Daily Yoga 30 Mins for 30 Days and BEYOND – Day 5

Posted on

Yoga with children…

Try it for a good belly laugh, to infuse some fun into your practice. I can pretty much guarantee enjoyment.

If you don’t have kids, a dog will give the same effect 🙂

Asha loves to do the poses along side me (read: underneath me) and Taj loves to giggle, swat at my face like a wild cat and climb onto my head!

I know it won’t be a serious session, however I trust it serves an equally important purpose; to focus on what is important, to be in that moment and to not take myself too seriously. To have light-hearted fun!

Daily Yoga 30 Mins for 30 Days and BEYOND – Day 4

My yoga challenge is just that, a challenge.

I find it hard to give myself the time I rightfully deserve for my practice some days.

There is so much that needs to be done… And I know when I am feeling this way (as I do tonight), is when I need my practice more than anything!

So to the mat I go. Because as soon as I enter that space all thoughts of dread, unworthiness and only tiny bits of self-love vanish.

Clear as a bell, the reason yoga is a MUST for me!

May Cause Miracles – Day 39 Recap Part 1

Day 39 focuses on Gratitude.

I have A LOT to be grateful for. I am getting to a place where I can snap into being grateful for oxygen in an instant when things seem hard.

It puts everything into perspective.

Thinking of how hard some people’s lives are also brings clarity.

I am taking an extra day on this one, partly because I don’t want this to end 🙂 but also to keep myself in a state of gratitude for another day to really dig deep and be grateful for the things that seem odd to be grateful for.

I want to show gratitude to myself for being me, for learning more about myself, for accepting myself as I am, for loving myself.

I’ll leave with a quote…

Happiness is an internal condition that doesn’t require outside influence. – May Cause Miracles

With Gratitude,
Jenn

May Cause Miracles – Day 38 Recap

Much repetition happened…

I will listen to those who want to be heard, help those who are in need, guide those are lost, and serve those who call for love.

Gabrielle shares a prayer that she often refers to when she needs to be reminded to shift from a “me” mentality to a “we” mentality.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

Prayer of Saint Francis

Oneness.

I will certainly be referring to this one a lot from here on in.

Peace & LOVE,

Daily Yoga 30 Mins for 30 Days and BEYOND – Day 3

Day 3 and I took the kids out it the freezing cold, pouring rain (not sure what I was thinking) for a walk at the lake. More like a giant puddle (the lake) for Asha to splash in! After a few frozen fingers & toes and a hot chocolate later, all was right again 🙂

Freezing limbs aside, it was fun to get out of the house!

I took it easy with my yoga tonight. One thing I am really trying to focus on is really listening to my body. Getting rid of the worry of a particular routine or style, but rather going with my internal flow. Match my yoga with how I am feeling.

Tonight I was feeling incredibly reflective. So some good flows later and an amazing ending in corpse, (an incredible meditation was had) I feel Centered.

May Cause Miracles – Day 37 Recap

Today I felt really strong and centered. I recited my affirmation A LOT…

Inner Guide, I welcome you to show me where to go, what to do, and what to say.

The focus of today’s teachings was to surrender to the fact that my life is for a higher purpose; to bring more light into the world.

I fully accept this mission and was really conscious about all of my thoughts today. Whenever my mind went to that place of doubt or fear, I kind of snapped myself out of it as quickly as I could. Just that awareness and the act of being more conscious really proves we have absolute power over our emotions and our reactions.

…wholeheartedly surrender to say yes to your inner voice of love.

Good night!

Daily Yoga 30 Mins for 30 Days and BEYOND – Day 2

Tonight I completed about 20 minutes of various standing poses and another 15 of savasana (also know as corpse pose)

Corpse pose has got to be my favourite hands down. Don’t think that the fact you are laying down on the ground, not moving is not significant to your practice. I have heard time and time again how savasana is one of the most important poses in yoga. And all methods of yoga incorporate it, so it must be beneficial!

I feel grounded, weightless, and completely blissed out in this pose. Not to mention how I love to meditate there as well. And no I don’t fall asleep 🙂

This is a great quote on the power of savasana,

When no effort is expended on supporting the body, there is greater opportunity to play with the process of focusing the mind in the present moment. – Arkie Yogini

It feels good to be making this solid commitment to my body, mind and soul.

Be blessed friends,
Jenn xx
